TRACK 9A

Large
Track 9A is part of MO*town, a new little neighborhood located in Amsterdam Sloterdijk. This area in Amsterdam West is undergoing an enormous transformation into a vibrant part of the city of Amsterdam.
Facade of Track 9A in MO*town, a sustainable residential building in Amsterdam Sloterdijk, featuring reclaimed wood-clad balconies and green terraces. Designed to invite ample daylight into each corner unit, the building includes privacy-providing timber louvres and a biodiversity-friendly roof garden that connects with the surrounding natural ecology of De Bretten park.
Track 9A makes the most out of the tight plot restrictions. Two strategic setbacks in the front and back of the building invite ample daylight to flood into every unit, creating a skin of light filled corner apartments.
The facade, a three-dimensional lattice of balconies with reclaimed wood cladding, gives the building a distinct identity. The repurposed timber louvres not only provide privacy but also double up as balustrades and sun shading.
Green, biodiversity and sustainability; these themes have been integrated into the design of Track 9A. The generous roof garden fits in perfectly with the ecology of the nearby De Bretten park. The natural roof is in keeping with the original surrounding nature and biodiversity of the Sloterdijk area. The roof thus forms a stepping stone for birds and insects between the Westerpark and the Bretten. And the best thing about this roof... only plants and animals are welcome.
